JOB GOALS
:
1. To provide supplementary
instructural services to individual and small groups of
students in a resource room setting
2. To modify an educational
program to accommodate students with disabilities
3. To assist the regular
education classroom teacher in providing remediation and
amelioration of identified learning and/or behavior
disabilities
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
:
1. Participate as a member of
the Teacher Support Team
2. Provide on-going
consultation to staff regarding children who have learning
and/or behavior problems
3. Conduct preliminary
evaluation procedures to help determine if a referred child
requires a formal case study
4. Assess a child's learning
environment
5. Serve as a member of the
diagnostic team for initial assessments and triennial
reassessments
6. Write up complete
educational assessment reports including information on the
child's functioning levels and learning processes
7. Interpret results of the
educational assessment to parents and staff
8.
Participate in the multidisciplinary conference, deliver the
educational assessment, help reach consensus and develop goals
and objectives
9.
Write and
implement effective and meaningful specific long range goals and
short term instructional objectives
10.
Design and/or select
appropriate remedial materials
11.
Organize an appropriate
educational setting to implement goals and objectives
12.
Have knowledge of the
curriculum and program demands at each grade level
13.
Use task analysis to
enable a child to master a concept or skill
14.
Incorporate behavior
modification techniques with children in the classroom
15.
Monitor the effectiveness
of the remediation/intervention program for needed
modifications
16.
Present progress report
at annual review along with new goals and objectives
17.
Complete promptly,
necessary records, forms and reports and maintain records as
needed to comply with district, cooperative, state and
federal regulations
18.
Comply with district
parent/teacher conference policies and state and federal
regulations relative to student staffings
19.
Continue professional
growth by updating knowledge of current legislation, special
education policies and assessment practices
