Civitas Schools is an educational management organization,
which operates three campuses of Chicago International Charter School
(CICS). We serve approximately 2,100
students in grades Kindergarten through Grade 12, on three sites: CICS Ralph
Ellison High School, CICS Northtown Academy High School, and CICS Wrightwood

Position Title: Speech Pathologist
Reports to: Director of
Student Services, Civitas Schools
Campus: CICS Northtown, CICS Ellison, CICS Wrightwood
Hours: Part-Time, Four Days/Week
Position Summary:
The Speech Pathologist will provide speech services to students
in need of support at all 3 Civitas Schools campuses. Their responsibility will
be to:

Provide screening, identification,
assessment, diagnosis, treatment, intervention and follow-up services for
disorders of speech/language and communication.

Work with parents and colleagues to develop
and maintain a positive learning environment.
·
Maintain useful and accurate records and
communicate information such as legal right evaluation results knowledgeably
and responsibly to parent/guardians
·
Facilitate collaborative relationship between
general education and special education staff
·
Utilize research results to determine effective
diagnostic and treatment procedures
·
Measure outcomes of treatment and conduct
continuing evaluation of the efficacy of practices and programs to improve
quality of services.

Create developmentally appropriate intervention
based on evaluation data
·
Provide services that demonstrate multicultural
sensitivity to students and their families
·
Contribute to the development of a comprehensive,
longitudinal program for students in need of services
· Assist in
determining the least restrictive environment to provide services based upon
the needs of the individual student
· Perform other
duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Illinois Type 73
School Service Personnel certificate with a non-teaching speech-language
pathologists endorsement or a Standard Type 03 or Type 09 Teaching certificate with speech
and language pathology endorsement.
