Substitute School Nurse

Description:   

• As needed basis, will receive a call when needed to schedule.
• Provides assistance to sick and injured students. 
• Administers first aid. 
• Investigates and documents injuries. 
• Ensures the accuracy of records.
• Ensures that all state minimum student health screening activities are completed.
• Reports to the Principal.

Minimum Qualifications:   

• Valid license/certificate appropriate for the position (i.e., a certified public school nurse licensed by the State of Indiana and Department of Public Instruction with a registered nurse (RN) degree licensed by the State of Indiana.
• Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., negative tuberculosis test, etc.)
• A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
• Compiles with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
• Keeps current with technology of normal growth and development.  Ability to access pharmacology information and community health resources appropriate to the needs of students.
• Training and/or experience in behavioral management techniques.

Salary:  $12.50 per hour
