Job Title: Para-Educator - YPP (Young Parents Program)

Reports To: Building Administrator
FLSA Status: Nonexempt - At-Will Position
Position Status: Part Time - 191 Days per Year
Range 6 ($9.39-$10.17) depending on years of verifiable experience.
Works under supervision to perform any combination of following instructional tasks in classroom to assist teacher of high school students by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Discusses assigned teaching area with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
Provides information regarding parenting skills and resources available to young parents.
Prepares various teaching aids such as bibliographies, charts, and graphs.
Presents subject matter to students, utilizing variety of methods and techniques such as lecture, discussion, and supervised role-playing.
Assists students, individually or in groups, providing them with the skills required to transition into parenthood.
Assist teacher with updating and maintaining accurate student records.
Assists with testing of students as needed.

EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required in addition to an AA Degree, 60 college credits or passed Para Pro Test minimum score of 459 points. First Aid/CPR card and Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance card are required.
