JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE:
SUBSTITUTE TEACHER
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To temporarily perform the duties of the regular classroom
teacher during his/her absence.
DESIRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.
A Bachelors
degree is preferred.
2.
Demonstrated
leadership abilities evidencing an ability to command respect
and enforce discipline in the classroom.
3.
Knowledge and
experience in basic computer hardware; working knowledge of
instructional software and classroom applications.
4.
Demonstrated interest in the community and its
students.

ability to impart subject matter proficiency to

students.

Demonstrate ability to improve students' use of written
language.
3.
Techniques/Delivery
A.
Communicate lesson objective and its importance to
students.
B.
Utilize appropriate varied teaching techniques and learning
activities, with emphasis on achieving mastery of fundamental
language, mathematics, science, and social science skills,
including independent reading, home study, lab work and
writing.
C.
Use out-of-class assignments, when appropriate, to support
instructional objectives.
D.
Maintain an effective system by monitoring student progress and
to inform appropriate personnel.

functions as assigned by the primary building
administrator.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT:
As per statement of employment for non-certificated
personnel.
EVALUATION:
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with school board
policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of
personnel.
