SUMMARY
Performs general maintenance work at the
school sites
.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned.
Performs journey level electrical, carpentry
and plumbing work.
Performs vehicle and diesel mechanic and small
engineer repair.
Maintains inventory of custodial/maintenance
supplies, tools and equipment.
Cleans and preserves designated spaces,
equipment etc. in the building.
Performs ongoing preventive
maintenance.
Makes general maintenance electrical,
plumbing, locksmith, glazer, and HVAC repairs.
Designs and completes maintenance carpentry
projects.
Works with staff to maintain a safe and secure
environment in the school building and on the school
grounds.
Picks up and delivers equipment. Receives
deliveries.
Operates the district's energy management
system. Responds to energy management, burglar and fire
alarms.
Operates all district vehicles in a safe and
appropriate manner.
Assists visiting public utilizing the
facilities with directions within building and in obtaining
and setting up equipment.
Performs Groundskeeper duties
including mowing, shoveling and snow plowing.
Performs normal operator adjustments and
service to facility equipment such as compressors, boilers,
unit ventilators and fans and maintains records on
operational and maintenance activities.
Maintains work related records and prepares
various reports as directed.
Performs related work as required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education
degree (GED).
A valid Illinois drivers license and a good
driving record are required.
Journey level experience in electrical or
plumbing required.
Coursework or certificates a
plus.
This is a 12 month, non-union, full time
