Description:
These 6th grade maternity leave positions require teaching reading and writing to middle school students. The positions are full time temporary from approximately Aug. 25 - Dec. 5 or Aug. 25 through Jan 31st.
Job Summary:
The individual should possess a knowledge of current best practice in language arts instruction. A thorough knowledge of reading and writing strategies is desired.
Qualifications:
Type '09 certificate
L.A./English endorsement
Middle School endorsementCourse work in teaching reading preferred
Teaching of reading strategies and skills preferred
Knowledge of readers'/writers' workshop model preferredExperience in teaching genre studies preferred
