About
Morrison Community Unit School District #6
The Morrison JH Counselor position will require a variety of assigned duties.
-
Part-time special education case-load
-Social and emotional needs of JH students in grades 6,7 and 8
-Academic tracking and monitoring all students includes assisting with ISAT and EXPLORE testing
-Behvioral RTI monitoring
-Special educational counseling services
-Coordinating student assistance programs- tutoring, and after school
-Work with area social agencies
-Manage and coordinate student referrals for RTI and special education
-Provide materials and consultation to teachers and parents regarding social and emtional needs of JH students
-Guide students in career choices, facilitate career options
-Coordinate transitions from 5th grade and to 9th grade
-Promote positive choices
-Assist with PBIS behavior planning
-Work collaboratively with District Counseling staff
Other duties as assigned
A special education background or certification is preferred.
