Job Description:
The Summer School Teacher is
responsible for maintaining and supporting generalization of
IEP goals for students eligible for the extended school year
program offered by Northern Suburban Special Education
District.
Students are in attendance 2 ½ hours, five days a week, for six
weeks.
The dates for summer school are June 18th through July 27th,
2012. Mandatory orientation is June 11
<SUP>th</SUP>
and 12
<SUP>th</SUP>
.
Teacher contract length is for 3 ½ hours daily.
Essential Job Functions:

Set up and maintain a safe and
structured classroom environment
·
Plan and implement instruction based
on IEP goals
·
Implement behavior plans and provide
environmental and proactive behavioral supports as
necessary
·
Train, supervise and evaluate
teacher assistants
·
Communicate with parents via daily
communication books and weekly newsletters
·
Organize and track student
materials
·
Attend weekly staff meetings
·
Work collaboratively with Speech
Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and Physical Therapist
·
Set up systems for safe supervision
throughout the educational environment
Qualifications:
Illinois Special Education
