Thank you for your interest in becoming a Substitute for Antioch Community Consolidated School District 34.  We are pleased that you're interested in working with us to promote ongoing student achievement and success.


New Applicants
Individuals interested in becoming a substitute must complete an online application.  All applicants are screened against a set of established standards that reflect our high expectations.  Once an application is approved, you will be contacted to conduct a phone or personal interview. 


We are always looking for the best candidates to provide substitute services to the students of Antioch School District 34!  



Any individual interested in substituting for Antioch CCSD 34 must have the following qualifications:

  1. Must be willing to work at all grade levels K-8
  2. Hold an official sealed/signed Substitute Teacher Authorization from ROE (if never substituted in Lake County prior to 1/1/11)
  3. Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning (which meets the requirements for an Illinois Substitute Teaching Certificate).
  4. Hold a valid Illinois Teaching Certificate or Substitute Teaching Certificate (for certified substitute positions), registered in Lake County for the current school year.
  5. Current physical exam including Tuberculosis test (if you have substituted in Lake County prior to 1/1/11)
  6. Criminal State and Federal background check  (if you have substituted in Lake County prior to 1/1/11)

As of March 1, 2011, the daily substitute rate is $100/day.

The Antioch Community Consolidated School District 34 serves 3,100 students from Antioch and parts of the surrounding communities of Lake Villa and Lindenhurst. It is comprised of four elementary schools and one middle school, all of which are accredited. With over 200 certified staff, Antioch District 34 is dedicated to the continual improvement o student achievement. The district is governed by a 7 member Board of Education who are elected by the public and serve without compensation.
