New Milford is seeking a regular classroom tutors. Must
hold Connecticut Certification. Pay rate is $14.00 per
hour, no benefits.
JOB
DESCRIPTION
The in-school tutor works in cooperation with and under the
direction of regular classroom teachers. Specific student
assignments are made by the Administration through
recommendations of the guidance counselors.
1.
Assisting regular education and special education students in
both the mainstream and resource area settings.
2.
Providing academic and organizational assistance in the
completion of homework assignments.
3.
Providing a one-on-one or small group support to help clarify
difficult academic concepts presented by the teacher.
4.
Monitoring behavior and re-directing students when they get off
task.
5.
Assisting students in the organization of materials needed for
class or during labs or projects.
6.
Communicating with teachers, administrators, pupil personnel
staff or others with regard to student performance and
progress.
7.
Administering modified tests or quizzes on behalf of classroom
teachers.
8.
Focusing on skill-building with students, such as in note-taking,
outlining, graphic organizers, computation, study skills,
etc.
Assume other such duties and assignments as may be requested
by teachers or administrators.
