Substitute School Bus Driver

• Safely transports students ona school bus (up to the bus’s capacity e.g. [1-90]) on a school bus
• Obeys all traffic laws
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses
• Maintains discipline when students are on bus
• Reports disciplinary issues to the proper authority
• Keeps assigned bus clean
• Maintains routing schedule within reason 
• Provides good customer service
• Communicates effectively and respectfully with supervisor, students, co-workers, parents and all stakeholders
• Acknowledges and complies with all GSCS System Values
• Performs pre-trip inspection before each bus operation
• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical problem or other emergency situation

Minimum Qualifications:

• Maintains valid CDL (commercial driver’s license) OR clean driving record (no more than 1 moving violation in past 36 mos) and a criminal history clearance to work with students

• Pass DOE annual physical for School Bus Driver
• Ability to assist incapacitated students off the bus if an emergency arises 
• Ability to open all emergency exits including roof hatch and rear exit
• Demonstrated ability to exit rear emergency exit

Salary: $20 per shift; full day (2 shifts) $40
