SALARY: $9.30 Per Hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma, required.
2. 2 years experience with preschool /elementary children, required.
3. 15 to 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, or elementary education, preferred.
4. Experience working with special needs children, preferred.
5. Knowledge of DPW Regulations, preferred.
6. Employee must be willing to be flexible with hours due to child/staff ratio.
7. Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Child Development Coordinating Director
JOB GOALS: To assist Group Supervisor in caring for the social, emotional, physical and
educational needs of students participating in Child Development Program as well as assist in ensuring center operates within the guidelines of the DPW regulations at all times.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist with the implementation of the daily program activities.
2. Assist the group supervisor with designated activities.
3. Assist with the implementation of behavior plans.
4. Effectively communicate with parents/guardians at an appropriate level.
5. Assist children develop habits of caring for own clothing and picking up and putting away toys and books.
6. Instructs children in practices of personal cleanliness and self care.
7. Alternates periods of strenuous activity with periods of rest or light activity to avoid overstimulation and fatigue.
8. Interacts with students using positive behavior intervention strategies.
9. Any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Ability to sit and talk and hear.
2. Ability to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and move quickly when
necessary to promote student learning and/or safety.
3. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
4. Ability to push items of 50 lbs such as pushing children in a wheelchair or moving/rearranging furniture.
SENSORY ABILITY
1. Ability to speak clearly and distinctly.
2. Auditory acuity to be able to use telephone.
3. Visual acuity to read correspondence and computer screen.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
1. Indoor and outdoor environments.
