QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school
diploma and 60 semester hours or 90 term hours,
or have passed Work Keys test (NCLB).

Microsoft Word, Windows, Pinnacle SIS System, and MEGS Data
system.

JOB
GOALS:
To provide a well organized, smoothly functioning school
environment in which all students can take full advantage of
the instructional program and available resource
materials.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Works with
individual students to reinforce
learning of materials
introduced by the teacher.
2.
Operates and cares for equipment
used for instructional purposes.
3.
Distributes and collects books,
papers and other materials for instruction.
4.
Guides independent study,
enrichment work, and remedial work as set up by the
teacher.
5.
Keeps bulletin board and
showcase up to date.
6.
Assists students on the
computer.
7.
Corrects papers, records papers,
and finalizes the completed packet with a certificate of
completion.
8.
Keep track of student's progress
and notify teacher if there is a problem.
9.
Enrollment of students.
10.
Prepare all packets for student
use.
11.
Support all retention
programs.
12.
Answer telephone and distribute
messages.
13.
Assist the Director with all
aspects of Adult Education.
14.
Prepare and gather information
needed for the annual audit.
15.
Provide posters and signs as
needed.
16.
Help students prepare their
resumes.
17.
Assist students that are
physically handicapped to enable them to benefit from the
program.
18.
Assist the correctional
facilities teacher with grading of papers, recording papers,
attendance sheets and certificates of completion.
19.
Other duties, as may be
assigned.
A paraprofessional in the
Adult Education Department must be very flexible and be able to
work with all personalities and ages of students. Being
an independent and dependable worker is also a plus.
Above all, confidentiality is a must.
