Coordinator of Teacher and Administrator
Quality
Purpose Statement
The job of Coordinator of Teacher and
Administrator Quality was established for the purpose/s of
planning, implementing, directing and maintaining district
mentoring efforts; serving as a resource to school personnel,
the Board and other districts; and maintaining staffing to
ensure that the program objectives are achieved and within
budget; administering the ADEPT and PADEPP programs according
to state guidelines, and managing professional development
opportunities for faculty.
Functions
·
Monitors fund balances of assigned programs
and related financial activity for the purpose of ensuring that
expenses are within budget limits and/or fiscal practices are
followed.

Participates in meetings, workshops and
seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering
information required to perform functions.
Essential Functions
·
Assists in planning and implementation of
new teacher support for the purpose of ensuring an effective and
seamless support system is in place based on individual beginning
teacher needs.
·
Collaborates with others (e.g. district
personnel, other district personnel, administrators, PRIME/ADEPT
coordinator, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and
maintaining the highest levels of support for instructional staff
while adhering the state guidelines and regulations.
·
Coordinates on-going assessments of the
mentoring, ADEPT and PADEPP programs (e.g. surveys, interactive
logs, etc.) for the purpose of identifying areas in need of
improvement and meeting state assessment requirements.

Coordinates program components, support
needs and materials (e.g. SC mentor training, training materials,
mentor academy, program assistant, scheduling paraprofessionals
training, etc.) for the purpose of delivering services which
conform to research-based best practices in mentoring.

Coordinates the work of other personnel
(e.g. mentor advisors, TMT program assistants, etc.) for the
purpose of ensuring consistency in addressing mentoring needs
throughout the district.
·
Develops and submits annual district
mentoring program plan for approval at the state level for the
purpose of meeting state requirements.
·
Develops programs and annual budget for the
purpose of ensuring that district resources are effectively
utilized for mentoring and ADEPT needs that support the
district's strategic plan.
·
Facilitates communication between staff
members and state officials (e.g. advisees, mentors, school
administrators, school contacts, TMT program assistants, ADEPT
coordinator, SC Mentor Coordinator, etc.) for the purpose of
evaluating situations, solving problems and/or resolving
conflicts.
·
Plans and conducts SDE approved mentoring
training and support programs for the purpose of ensuring
district compliance with state regulations.
·
Provides leadership in recruitment,
selection and assignment of mentors (e.g. disseminating
information, designing applications and format, interviewing,
etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate number of qualified
mentors, enhancing productivity of personnel and achieving
objectives within budget.
·
Provides leadership in developing and
implementing a variety of support systems (e.g. training for
paraprofessionals, support staff) for the purpose of
strengthening instruction throughout the district.

Researches a variety of information for the
purpose of developing new programs and/or master plans that
strengthen instructional support for teachers.
·
Researches and coordinates professional
development opportunities for the purpose of developing a wide
variety of professional offerings that meet identified needs of
all school personnel to ensure system-wide
growth.
·
Serves as the district contact for the
Teacher Forum and the District mentoring program for the purpose
of ensuring required information, training and reports are
completed and submitted in a timely manner.

Serves as district Public Relations
Coordinator
Other Functions
Performs other related duties, as
assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and
effective functioning or the program.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Skills are required to specific
skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the
function of the job include: Three years of successful
Secondary or Elementary Principal experience and experience in
evaluation and mentoring teachers, principals and assistant
principals.
Responsibility
Responsibilities include the creation of a
principal support program, assistant principal support program
and principal evaluation program for aspiring
administrators.
