Job Description: 12-month, grant-funded position. Primary Responsibilities : Welcome families to the Assessment Center. Contact parents to schedule appointments and for follow-up information. Contact school districts, secretaries and teachers for information as needed. Maintain the Welcome/Assessment Center Schedule and Student Data Base. Maintain assessment records. Collaborate with Department of Language and Culture staff to address the needs of ELL families. Prepare parent placement and notification letters for mailing to ELL families. Assist with the distribution and collection of district level assessments. Translate information as needed. Assist with the Bilingual Parent Advisory Meetings and yearly multicultural event. Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Language and Culture.

 

Requirements: High School Diploma. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficent in speaking Spanish.

 

Salary: $13.40 per hour

Site-based management is being undertaken through school leadership teams comprised of principals, teachers and parents who analyze demographic data and test score results of their students and use the information to define the vision, goals, programs and assessment practices for their schools. Our nearly 1,100 teachers are supported by social workers, psychologists, technology facilitators, gifted resource teachers, literacy coaches and other specialists who assist them in meeting the students’ needs. District 54 has a strong Parent Teacher Association at every school and many business partnerships that provide unique learning experiences.
