  Denali Borough School District is looking for a K-12 Special Education Teacher, Primarily Elementary

Location: Tri-Valley School, Healy, AKQualifications:*Alaska Teaching Certificate with a K-12 Special Education endorsement. Highly Qualified status required. Knowledge and understanding of Alsaska State Professional Teaching Practices Commission*Ability to plan, organize, develop, prepare and deliver IEP's goals and objectives for all children*Experience writing all components of a student's IEP*Experience and understanding of best teaching practices and can explain and demonstrate effective use of such practices in a classroom setting, one on one with students, and in small groups*Ability to work with teachers, parents, administrators, and others successfully*Experience and understanding the importance of ongoing formative and summative assessments and can explain and demonstrate effective use of such assessments in a classroom setting. Ability to use the data to improve instruction and learning for students. Assessments might include portfolios, scoring guides, running records observations, and analytical and contextual, plus others*Experience and understanding of Anchorage Pre-School Developmental Profile, Woodcock Johnson Reading Test, Lindamood-Bell testing instruments, and other tests given in relation to Special Education services*Proficient technology skill in commonly used software programs, e-mail, internet, etc, that can be demonstrated on Macs. Experience with electronic IEP Programs
Salary: Based on the District's Teacher's Negotiated Agreement
