SUMMER SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:
The Summer School Principal reports to the RHS Assistant Principal or designee and acts as the summer school administrator managing summer school operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a New Jersey Standard Principal Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility
- Knowledge of successful teaching practices
- Demonstrated successful school experience, including previous/current leadership roles and prior summer school roles
- Knowledge of remedial and new "work for credit" curricula
- Budget development and management experience
- Marketing experience
- Proficient in Student Information Systems (Skyward)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Annual program preparation activities prior to the opening summer school, which include:
building the course catalog, master schedule and budget, advertising/student and staff recruitment, ordering supplies/textbooks, gathering course curricula
- Conduct and coordinate all day-to-day operations including registration, instructional supervision, payroll, budget management, attendance and discipline
- Manage the summer school's use of facilities
- Annual program close-out activities following the conclusion of summer school, which include:
completing final inventory review and budget reconciliation, completing program summaries and reports as needed and submitting them to the Superintendent and the Principals, reporting to the Board of Education as needed
