PRIMARY TASKS
Serve as the "instructional leader" of the
Jr. High School (Grades 7-8). Responsible for the
educational programs and services in the school building in
accordance with District policies and procedures under the
direction of the Executive Director of Secondary Education.
Direct the planning, implementation, and evaluation of
curriculum, student discipline, and attendance and accompanying
programs and activities.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES
Supervise and evaluate assessment data and
curriculum and instruction to ensure best practices in
instructional strategies. Provide leadership and
supervision
of student, staff, and school programs.
Responsible for student discipline, supervision, and school
climate. Promote and assist with professional development;
plan/supervise summer school; and other responsibilities as
assigned by the Executive Director of Secondary Education.
EDUCATIONAL/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Masters degree in Education Administration and
Missouri Administration Certificate required; Specialist Degree
or doctorate in education preferred. Three years'
administrative experience preferred. Effective
communicator, team builder, visionary goal achiever with strong
work ethic. Must have a strong knowledge of Missouri
Assessment Program (MAP) and effective instructional
strategies. Willingness to understand and support the
District's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. A desire
to collaborate with colleagues and implement policies/programs
through progressive and innovative leadership. Must
successfully pass a background check and drug test that are
satisfactory to the Board of Education.
