ESY Special Education Summer School Occupational Therapist
Pre K – 12 Summer School Occupational Therapist
2012 Summer School Program will begin at each site on June 18 and will
continue until July 19. Students will be in attendance for 4.5 hours
daily. Therapists will work 5 hours daily Monday through Thursday (15
minutes before the start of the school day and 15 minutes at the end of
the school day). There will be no school on Fridays and July 4th.
(Therapist hours/Glenwood: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and Juarez/WHS: 7:15
a.m. - 12:15 p.m.)
Professional development will be conducted
on June 12, 13, 14. Attendance is mandatory at all professional
(1) Provide therapy treatment to students in accordance with accepted
practices and procedures of pediatric therapy according to stated IEP
goals; (2) Perform and document full appropriate therapy evaluation of
students receiving therapy; (3) Attend and participate in Individual
Education Plan meetings; (4) Complete the necessary paperwork according
to district, federal and state guidelines; (5) Monitor the use of
equipment and ensure that it is used correctly by others; (6)
Communicate effectively with the classroom teacher, administrators and
parents about the day, services, student progress and equipment; (7)
Perform other duties assigned by the special education coordinator or by
the Director of Specialized Services.
Qualifications: Must hold appropriate Illinois Therapy License
Therapists will be paid a stipend of $35.00 per hour. Federal and
State withholding will be taken from the amount earned. Absences or
tardiness will result in decreased amount as indicated in this job
