ssignment:
7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday - Friday
Function:
The grounds employee has direct responsibility for the care,
maintenance, protection and preservation of all areas affecting
the outside conditions of school buildings, auxiliary buildings
and surrounding grounds.
The position requires the ability to
operate and maintain heavy equipment including, but not limited
to, loaders, large commercial mowers, forklifts and other heavy
equipment. Background and experience in the operation and
maintenance of snow removal equipment, four wheel drive trucks,
tractors and light gasoline-powered equipment is also
required. Applicants may be expected to demonstrate their
ability to operate any of the above equipment.
Principal job duties include:

Mowing, trimming, fertilizing, improving and maintaining the
District's lawns, athletic fields, shrubbery and trees.
- The
application of herbicides and pesticides.

Repair and maintenance of fences, bleachers, playgrounds and
athletic equipment.
- The
moving of the District's equipment and furniture, mail route
and warehouse duties, as assigned.

Operation and maintenance of all vehicles and equipment
assigned to the grounds department

Performance of winter duties which include snow removal
schedule.

Preparation of seed beds, planting and irrigation as
directed.
- All
other duties as pertain to the job classification as assigned
by the Manager of Buildings and Grounds.
This job will involve working at all building sites throughout
the District.

demonstrate an excellent work record, including good attendance,
cooperative spirit, willingness to undertake and complete tasks
assigned, and ability to work well with all school
employees.
Required:
Applicant must hold a commercial drivers license (Class B with
air brake endorsement) and a commercial pesticide applicators
license (Category 3a), or have the ability to obtain these within
the first 60 days of employment.
Must be a high school graduate or have
G.E.D. equivalent.
