 PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The role of the project manager is to serve as a liaison between the Grant Implementation Team and the Campus-based Leadership Team (CbLT) for implementation of the School Readiness Program and its activities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor and Master’s degree required

Master’s degree in Reading preferred

Principal or Mid-Management Certificate

Texas Teacher certificate with Bilingual Endorsement

Experience:

Five years of successful classroom experience

Three years of administrative experience is preferred

Experience as a Literacy Coach or related position preferred

Experience working with students in Second Language Acquisition program (English Language Learners)

                                  

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Serve as point of contact in matters related to state-assigned Liaison and TEA Leadership team

·         Attend trainings required by TEA

·         Conduct daily monitoring of grant activities and effective implementation of each, including authorization

of financial  transactions and program related activities

·         By the 5th of each month, hold monthly meetings with campus CbLT, including UTPA and Head Start

·         By the 10th of each month, submit a campus/ entity activities report to Grant Implementation Team

·         Plan and coordinate trainings, professional development and other program activities, including required

oral and written authorizations thereof

·         Provide status updates to Grant Implementation Team and CbLT- Principal to ensure timely completion of

grant activities and related tasks

·         Conduct three data analysis meetings for each category (Pre-K – 2<SUP>nd</SUP>, 3<SUP>rd</SUP> – 5<SUP>th</SUP>, and 6<SUP>th</SUP> – 12<SUP>th</SUP>) to include:

(a)     Data disaggregation for all students, including ELLs, and Special Ed. Students;

(b)     Comparing Previous results with current data (by teacher and student),

(c)   Plans for Regrouping,

(d)   Plans for addressing weak areas, and

(e)   Plans for addressing the needs of students struggling the most

·         Schedule meeting with Grant Implementation Team to discuss and submit the BOY, MOY, or EOY at

least 5 days after the last school meeting that will include a corrective action plan for each

·         Provide ongoing support in the critical needs areas and as requested by grant participants

·         Coordinate with literacy line schools to prepare and submit program reports required for TEA

·         Assist Edinburg CISD in attaining the following performance targets by the end of the grant period

- Pre-K:  At least 85% of preschool children who enter kindergarten will have adequate skills in

phonological awareness and letter-naming ability

·         - K-2<SUP>nd</SUP>:  Decrease the number and percentage of students receiving intervention services from 12%

(312) to less than 5%

·         - 3<SUP>rd</SUP> – 12<SUP>th</SUP> Grades: When combined, the average passing rate for the twelve participating schools is at

least 90%, and individually, each participating school improved academic performance by at least 4%
