QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree; certification appropriate to position;
successful teaching and/or leadership experience.
REPORTS
TO:
Superintendent
SUPERVISES:
All certified and all non-certified personnel assigned to that
school

Job Goals:
1.
Assume all administrative responsibility and leadership for
all
aspects of the school program.
2.
Create and maintain an educational atmosphere that enables staff
and students to attain the unique goals and objectives of their
school and the Fremont City Schools.
3.
Assist the Department of Curriculum, Assessment and Staff
Development in providing leadership for developing effective and
efficient educational programs and services.
Performance Responsibilities:
1.
MANAGEMENT:
a. Oversees the entire school operation which involves safety,
staff supervision, curriculum planning and student
activities.
b.
Assures that all Board of Education policies,
rules and regulations are enforced as well as those of the Ohio
Department of Education and all negotiated contracts.
c.
Works collaboratively with the Office of Human
Resources to select, schedule, supervise and evaluate school
personnel.
2.
INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP:
a.
Provides leadership in implementing, sustaining and evaluating
a standards-based curriculum consistent with district's goals
and objectives.
b.
Demonstrates the ability to utilize data to drive curricular
and instructional decisions and practices in the
classroom.
c.
Understands the use of differentiated instruction to promote
student achievement, monitors its implementation in classrooms,
and evaluates its efficacy.
d.
Monitors the design and delivery of the standards-based
curriculum using the Downey Walk-Through process.
3.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
a. Provides professional development so that teachers can help
all students learn including opportunities for educators to
share what they know about how students learn best.
b.
Shares current educational research pertinent to learning and
implements/models such research as appropriate.
c.
Demonstrates continuous capacity building and professional
growth in himself/herself.
4.
POSITIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT:
a.
Establishes high expectations for performance and monitors the
performance of these expectations.
b.
Establishes an orderly, positive learning environment with
clearly defined and communicated expectations for appropriate
conduct.
c.
Recognizes that a wide spectrum of learning opportunities is
needed to meet all needs and accommodate all learning styles
and intelligences.
d.
Integrates instructional goals into all facets of the school
operation.
5.
STAKEHOLDER INVOLVEMENT:
a.
Establishes a student voice in the school through student
governance organizations.
b.
Establishes and chairs faculty and parent advisory groups and
committees.
c.
Creates a protocol for communication to all
stakeholders.
d.
Values and encourages shared leadership, responsibility, and
decision making in recognition of individual and collective
commitment to student learning.
e.
Encourages meaningful, effective and productive partnerships
and collaboration.
f.
Understands the need for and elects community involvement in
partnerships with the school.
g.
Identifies and clearly articulates commonly held community
beliefs.
6.
Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities
as may be assigned by the
Superintendent.
