Lead Dyslexia Teacher (187 Days)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree preferred) an accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certification; bilingual certification preferred
• Five years teaching experience

BASIC FUNCTIONS

• Provide formal assessment for students referred to S504 Committee for a dyslexia evaluation
• Attend all S504 Committee meetings when dyslexia identification is being considered to present and interpret dyslexia assessment data
• Train and provide technical assistance to campus dyslexia designees to support campus compliance
• Train and provide technical assistance to campus facilitators for the facilitation of the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children Dyslexia Training Program and/or Literacy Program
• Conduct campus compliance visits to ensure services are provided in accordance with state and local mandates
• Observe facilitation of district approved instructional programs for quality program implementation
• Update district records for students identified with dyslexia
• Provide resources, training, and support for parents of students identified with dyslexia
• Assist Dallas ISD diagnosticians and school psychologists with identification of dyslexia through Special Education process
• Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned

Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines.   A campus-based employee may not assume a new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by the executive director - Human Resources.
