Qualifications:
Required:

High School Diploma or GED
-
Three (3) years of clerical/secretarial experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Verified ability to type from clear copy at the rate of 55 W.P.M. with accuracy (Certificate of Proficiency)
Preferred:
-
Demonstrated knowledge of Lotus, Infinite Campus, and Ad Hoc queries
-
Demonstrated ability to use IBM computers
-
Demonstrated knowledge of district operations and organization
-
Demonstrated familiarity with mainframe terminal, electronic mail, requisitions, purchase orders, service request and other computerized processes
- Demonstrated knowledge of Individual Education Plan’s, Colorado Department of Education codes and forms, and Exceptional Student Services terminology
Other Qualifications/Skills:

Verified data entry, spreadsheet, and word processing skills on a computer terminal

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional/effective working relationship with staff, administrators, parents, students, city/county officials, and other community members

Responsibilities:
-
Act as receptionist for Exceptional Student Services Department, Detention Center, and Pueblo Detention Center; perform general office duties; keep an accurate and up to date filing system; operate appropriate office equipment; cordially answer telephone calls; receive office patrons; direct calls to appropriate individual, appease irate callers; give routine/established information to callers; assist individuals with scheduling appointments; occasionally schedule meetings for the Executive Director; handle or refer complaints/problems as appropriate

Screen incoming calls and correspondence and refer to appropriate staff for action

Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of assignments
-
Copy and disseminate documents
-
Type correspondence, memorandums, reports, print ready materials, meeting notices, and other materials
-
Process and distribute mail (both out-going and in-coming)
-
Use computer for word processing, E-mail, work orders, supply requests, purchase orders, data processing requests, as assigned
-
Perform all duties related to assisting with staffing reports as assigned
-
Provide information related to the department’s or school’s policies and practices, or regulatory guidelines of a clear nature
-
Process and maintain records and activities for students and staff or programs under the supervision of education including but not limited to: Detention Center, Extended School Year Program, and Homebound Tutoring

Process and maintain records regarding student transportation as assigned
-
Process and maintain student records on the Student Information System (Infinite Campus) as assigned
-
Manage data for district and state department reports as assigned
-
Fill in / provide clerical support to other staff as needed
-
Act as a team member for the Exceptional Student Services Department; follow up on pertinent issues; set positive, helpful tone for office
-
Assist the team to ensure a smooth operation between and among team personnel and school facilities
-
Perform any and all duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Exceptional Student Services
