Summary of Duties:
The Lead Teacher's primary duties are in the areas
of:
curriculum development and
coordination, student achievement, response to intervention,
professional development, and student literacy. The Lead
Teacher is based at the elementary school and works in
coordination with the Principal and Director of
Instruction.
The Lead Teacher is also responsible for duties as
an Administrative Assistant which includes testing coordination,
student discipline, and handling of bus referrals.
Qualifications:

Possesses a
Virginia teaching license with more than three years of
successful teaching experience at the elementary level.
·
Holds a Master's
degree.
·
Evidence of high
credibility with school principal and staff.
·
Possesses strong
communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
·
Knowledge of,
and ability to use, assessment data to guide curriculum and
instruction.
·
Ability to
coordinate school-wide benchmark and state testing programs.
·
Experience with
developing and implementing professional development programs,
both at the school and division levels.
·
Evidence of
understanding of Response to Intervention strategies to ensure
student mastery learning.
·
Exhibits the
capability and willingness to continue to enhance their skills
and knowledge.
·
Able to develop,
implement, monitor, and evaluate new curricula.
·
Possesses a
repertoire of instructional strategies and methodologies that
reflect current best practices, specifically in the area of
student literacy.
·
Able to lead
others, work as a member of a team, and facilitate learning.
·
Able to assist
teachers in differentiating instruction for various academic
levels and a diversity of learners.
·
Able to
implement Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
·
Understands and
works professionally with adult learners.
Salary:
Range for 2012-2013 is is $39,200 to $68,742 with additional
supplemental pay for graduate degree and additional days.
Additional stipend of $3,500 for
Administrative Assistant responsibilities.
Workday:
Full time /
10 month (200 Days) position, 7 hours per day, Monday through
Friday.
Position also requires an additional 20
days per contract year.
