About
Waukegan Community Unit District 60
9-12 Summer School Teacher
Number of vacancies to be determined pending funding and enrollment
The 2012 Summer School Program will begin on June 11 and will continue until July 27. There will be two semesters. Teachers will work 4.5 hours daily Monday through Friday. Classes will not meet on Wednesday July 4, 2012.
Semester 1: June 12, 2012 – July 3, 2012 7:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Semester 2: July 5, 2012 – July 26, 2012 7:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Teacher professional development will be conducted on June 11th. Attendance is mandatory.

: WHS - WC
Responsibilities
: (1) Plan and submit daily lesson plans weekly to the site coordinator; (2) Monitor and record student progress; (3) Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and appropriate reinforcement techniques that are consistently applied; (4) Communicate with the parents regarding student achievement; (5) Prepare the assigned classroom to encourage engaged, small group instruction; (6) Instruct and respond in an appropriate manner with ethnically diverse students; (7) Use effective oral and written expression; (8) Model respective course on those offered during the regular school year with course condensed from a regular semester.
Stipend:
Teachers will be paid a stipend of $35.00/hr. Federal and State withholdings will be taken from the amount earned. Checks will be issued at the end of June and the end of July.
Additional Information
: Failure to fulfill these duties and responsibilities may result in dismissal from the summer program. No more that two days can be missed without jeopardizing dismissal and termination of the contract unless extenuating circumstances prevail.
