Position:        K-12 Teacher, 200 day contract with work required during summer months

Location:        Denali PEAK Statewide Correspondence Program, Anchorage

Start Date:     July 1, 2012

Qualifications:

1. Valid Alaska Teacher's Certificate and Highly Qualified in two or more of the following: math, science, language arts, and social studies. Special Education endorsement preferred.
2. Experience or certification in the primary assignment and /or secondary assignment.
3. Ability to plan, organize, develop, prepare and deliver under minimal supervision, educational programs to students' assigned subject(s) and/or grade level(s) and students' individual abilities.
4. Experience and understanding of best teaching practices and can explain and demonstrate effective use of such practices in classroom setting.
5. Experience and understanding importance of ongoing formative and summative students. Assessments might include portfolios, scoring guides, running records, observations, and analytical and contextual, plus others.
6. Proficient technology skills in commonly used software programs including Office, e-mail, Internet etc., that can be demonstrated on Macs.
7. Knowledge and understanding of Alaska State Professional Teaching Practices Commission statutes.

Salary:                       As per negotiated Agreement
