Qualifications: Illinois State Teaching Certificate or
ASEP Certification; head coaching experience preferred.
Responsibilities of the Head Pom/Dance Coach:
A. To
enforce the athletic policies of the school to his/her sport
with the direct supervision of the Head Coach/Athletic
Director.
B.
Responsible that sportsmanship is taught to the team members in
all levels of the sport.
C.
Responsible that a sportsman-like conduct is adhered to by
coaches and players.
D.
Responsible for all equipment issued to his/her sport.
E.
Responsible to check eligibility on a daily basis, especially
if any new additions to the roster are made.
F.
Responsible to know and abide by school and District #118
rules.
G.
Responsible to know and abide by conference rules.
H.
Responsible to know and abide by I. H. S. A. rules.
I. Responsible for turning
in accident reports the day of or after the accident to the
athletic department.
J. Responsible for
requesting equipment, supplies, etc. for levels of his/her
sport.
K.
Responsible for turning in post-game summaries for publicity
purposes. (Daily school announcements or
newsletters).
L.
Responsible for calling in scores of contests after each
game.
M. Responsible
for cooperating with other conference coaches and Head Coach in
carrying out directives of the conference.
N.
Responsible for preparing season & year-end
inventory.
O.
Responsible for issuing and collecting all equipment for
his/her sport and keeping accurate records for each
player.
P.
Notify the athletic director of players who are to be charged
for lost equipment or use forms provided by the athletic
office.
Q.
Maintain and supervise athletic locker room.
R. Follow
the basic systems to be used in the sport.
S. Assist with coordination of home
competitions.
