Required Certifications/Licenses
:
Wisconsin certification as a school principal required.
Position Purpose
:
The Assistant Principal is accountable to the principal of the
school(s) to which assigned.
The Assistant Principal assumes
administrative tasks as directed by the principal. The
Assistant Principal is authorized to act in the absence of the
principal as directed.
Formal Education
:
Master's Degree from a school accredited by the North Central
Association of Colleges or an equivalent agency.
Experience
:
Administrative ability.
Minimum of three years teaching
and/or administrative experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
:
Knowledge of or willingness to learn about and provide
leadership for implementation of RUSD's "North Star" Vision
Essential Functions
:
1.
Assists the principal in serving
as the instructional and organizational leader of the
school.
2.
Assumes daily operational tasks
that include but are not limited to the following
responsibilities:
student schedules, student grades, student activities,
establishing and maintaining student discipline, arranging and
participating in conferences with students, teachers,
counselors, and parents, and maintaining necessary anecdotal
record. May also include: student attendance, student
transportation, and maintaining a testing schedule.
3.
Conducts classroom observations
and teacher evaluations at the direction of the principal.
4.
Evaluates other building support
staff at the direction of the principal.
5.
Provides service to staff
members through orientation activities, counseling, faculty
meetings, providing instructional materials and curriculum
development activities.
6.
Serves as the building
administrator in the absence of the principal.
7.
Performs other duties as
assigned by the principal.
8.
Serves as LEA Representative in
IEP meetings at the school(s).
9.
Familiar with and capable of
assisting and loading scheduling process.
