VACANCY: EARLY CHILDHOOD ASSISTANT
SUMMARY: Assists the early childhood instructor in daily classroom and building activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
Assists with small-group activities.
Assists teacher in maintaining discipline and other functions.
Assists with homes visits twice a year.
Presents a pleasant, caring, non-threatening attitude toward children.
Assists with set up of classroom and prepares materials for specialized instructional units.
Maintains attendance reports and related clerical functions.
Creates and maintains educational bulletin board displays.
Operates standard school equipment, e.g., copier, laminater, audiovisual equipment.
Escorts and supervises children as they move to and from various rooms.
Supervises students within the building, on the playground, and on field trips.
Assists with toileting and self care needs of children when necessary.
Assists with home visits when necessary.
Completes other activities as assigned.
Maintains regular attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
CDA or 120 hours of Early Childhood Education.
