QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires knowledge of
proper English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary; proper
office methods and practices, including record keeping, receptionist and
telephone techniques, letter and report writing; word processing techniques and
computer software applications. Knowledge of K.H.S.D. general operations,
policies, regulations, procedures, activities, and operations as related to
personnel.
Must possess the skill to
understand and carry out oral and written instructions in an independent manner;
the ability to type 50 WPM; establish and maintain a variety of records;
prepare reports; communicate effectively and tactfully in oral and written
forms; prioritize and appropriately schedule assigned work load; operate a
variety of office equipment including a computer terminal; understand and apply pertinent personnel
policies, laws, rules and regulations; perform mathematical calculations using
addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; perform a variety of
clerical/administrative support functions with speed and accuracy; analyze
situations and take appropriate action regarding routine procedural matters
without immediate supervision; establish and maintain effective work
relationships with those contacted in the performance of duties.
Three years of responsible clerical experience
involving public contact, preferably including personnel experience is
required.
A recent TYPING
CERTIFICATE MUST ACCOMPANY THE APPLICATION. A CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED
OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.
DUTIES OF POSITION: Provides a variety of responsible operational/administrative
support functions related to the activities of an assigned District personnel
area and to act as a resource person to District administrators, employees, and
outside sources regarding various personnel operations and procedures for both
certificated and classified employees. Employees in this classification receive
limited supervision from the Personnel Office Supervisor within a framework of
policies and procedures; requires strong communication and organizational
skills with attention to detail, processes summer school assignments and
performing related duties as assigned.
STARTING SALARY: $3,118.00
