QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires knowledge of proper English usage,
spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary; use of the operations,
procedures, and terminology used in insurance accounting functions, current office
methods and procedures including the use and operation of standard office
equipment and machines including typewriter, calculator, copier and computer
terminal; record keeping methods and techniques.
Must possess the skill to understand and follow
both oral and written instructions in an independent manner; perform and verify
mathematical calculations accurately; interpret and apply insurance standards
and requirements; prepare accurate reports and correspondence; the ability to
type accurately at a rate required for successful job performance; establish
and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the
performance of required duties.
Two years of broad and varied experience in the
clerical field and at least one year of experience in some area of insurance
accounting work, preferably including personnel experience is required.
A CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED
OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.
DUTIES OF POSITION: To perform all
insurance/premium functions for health and welfare benefits for both classified
and certificated personnel and to perform highly responsible record keeping
functions in the maintenance of financial insurance records. Employees in this
classification receive general to limited supervision from a departmental
administrator or his/her designate within a framework of standard policies and
procedures. This job classification is responsible for providing highly
responsible clerical/technical record keeping functions related to the
enrollment and processing of certificated and classified employees into a
variety of insurance programs; and perform related duties as assigned.
STARTING SALARY: $3,268.00 (monthly)
NUMBER OF MONTHS: 12 (to begin 6/1/12)
NUMBER OF HOURS:
8 (daily working hours to 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
