Specific Duties/Tasks Include:
Plans and implements a program of instruction that adheres to the district philosophy, goals and objectives as outlined in the adopted course study.
Plans and implements a program of study designed to meet individual needs of students.
Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching strategies.
Demonstrates a strong grasp of subject matter.
Uses effective oral and written expression.
Develops, in accordance with district school guidelines, reasonable rules of classroom behavior and appropriate techniques that are consistently applied.
Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations.
Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments in order to evaluate students progress.
Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula.
Confer with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to resolve students behavioral and academic problems.
Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
Knowledge and Skills and Other Characteristics Preferred:
Knowledge of problem-solving and conflict resolution techniques and strategies.
Strong listening skills.
Ability to work with a variety of individuals possessing a variety of needs.
Skill in oral and written communications.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in education
Hold Arizona State Teacher Certification or eligible to obtain same
Salary and Benefits:
Range 44 Starting Salary $30,974 Final Salary depending on experience and education
Proposition 301 - Classroom Site Fund moneys paid in addition to Contract Salary
