PRIMARY TASKS
Student individualized assessment and interpretation; develop and implement Individual Educational Plans (IEP); student instruction for self-contained students Grades K-4; attend/participate in appropriate and relevant meetings and staffings; initiate and complete required paperwork within established timelines; collaborate with appropriate staff/individuals regarding student programs and services; supervise paraprofessional(s) in classroom.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES
IEP development and implementation; individualized and small group instruction for self-contained students; data collection; attend/participate in parent meetings; have knowledge of and support the building level and District policies.
EDUCATIONAL/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Certification in Special Education, cross categorical. Minimum of three years' teaching experience preferred. Possess skills with computer and good people skills; able to collaborate well with others; knowledge of appropriate grade level curriculum and functional curriculum. Training or knowledge regarding autism and behavior management required. Must have regular attendance and positive interpersonal relationships with staff and parents. Knowledge of requirements of Missouri Assessment Program (MAP, EOC, and MAP-A).
Willingness to understand and support the District’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan.
Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education.
