QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires command of the English
language; word processing techniques and computer software applications;
knowledge of specialized procedures, methods and policies as designated; proper telephone techniques
and etiquette; basic policies and procedures related to student registrations,
admissions and record maintenance; legal requirements, principles and
procedures for student, staff and program records.
Must possess the
skill to operate designated office machines and equipment with speed and
accuracy; type at a rate of 40 net wpm;
assist in processing forms, applications, documents, records or other paperwork
in support of specialized program; learn
the operations, procedures, policies and requirements of assigned program;
perform routine mathematical calculations; maintain routine records; understand
and effectively carry out oral and written directions in an independent manner;
establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the
performance of duties.
High School Diploma or Equivalent desired. Two years of increasingly responsible
clerical experience, including contact with students or the general public, and
statistical record keeping on a computer terminal.
One year of typing
experience is required.
A RECENT TYPING CERTIFICATE MUST ACCOMPANY APPLICATION TO
BE CONSIDERED.
A CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED OF THE
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.
DUTIES OF POSITION:
Under supervision, perform a wide variety of responsible and specialized
clerical/technical support services to staff members. This job class performs journey level
clerical duties and requires knowledge of specialized procedures and
precedents. Must be able to choose among a limited number of alternatives in
solving routine problems; will have various responsibilities in several areas.
STARTING SALARY: $1,937.69 (monthly)
NUMBER OF MONTHS: 9.4
