Position Opportunity:
Working under direction of the
Precision Machining Technology/Engineering Design
& Machine Technology Instructor, participates
in the preparation of Career Center students for
careers and further schooling in the machine tool
and engineering fields.
Qualifications:
·
High school diploma.
Industry-based post-secondary training
preferred.
·
Two years recent successful work
experience in precision tooling fabrication or repair
related work, and able to be annually authorized for
vocational education.
·
High level of computer skills,
including office software (required) and CAD/CAM
software (preferred).
·
Abilities to adapt instructional
approaches to individual student needs.
·
Able to understand and follow
existing policies and procedures.
·
Able to work with others and
communicate effectively with individuals and with
groups.
·
Able to meet deadlines, follow
through on assignments and anticipate classroom/student
needs.
Performance
Responsibilities:
·
Assists teacher as part of a
teaching team in instructing students and maintaining a
classroom and lab atmosphere that is conducive to
learning.
·
Assists in the development and/or
evaluation of the program curriculum/modules.
·
Instructs students in, and
follows, necessary safety procedures.
·
Assists in classroom related
non-instructional duties, including evaluating student
performance and record-keeping duties related to
behavior and attendance.
·
Works with special needs students
to provide individualize support.
·
Assists teacher in ordering
supplies and equipment needed for instruction.
·
Assists with the coordination of
work-based learning.
·
Participates in the marketing
efforts for the program.
·
Performs other duties as assigned
by the Instructor, Associate Principal, and/or
Principal.
Working Conditions:
·
Safety precautions required with
metal working tools and machinery, sharps, and
flammable materials.
·
Lifting and moving up to 30
lbs.
