a. Shall possess a Connecticut Coaching Certificate.
a. The supervisor shall possess the skills necessary for teaching cheers and other cheerleading techniques.
Knowledge and Content:
a. The supervisor shall have an understanding of conducting cheerleading support for high school varsity, junior varsity, and freshman teams in both boys and girls sports activities.
b. The supervisor shall have knowledge concerning the administration of a cheerleader squad.
c. The supervisor shall have knowledge concerning the ordering and care of material and equipment relating to cheerleading.
a. The supervisor shall be responsible to the principal working through the supervisor of physical education and athletics and the faculty manager.
b. The supervisor shall plan and organize a tryout and selection system before the close of school in June.
c. The supervisor shall plan and organize practice sessions to teach cheerleading skills and techniques.
a. The supervisor shall establish a schedule of game supervision assignments. These assignments shall be equally divided between the head and assistant supervisors and shall include home and away games in at least the varsity soccer, football, and basketball programs.
b. The supervisor and/or assistant supervisor shall accompany the squad on the trips, and supervise at various home and away contests, during the fall and winter sport seasons.
c. The supervisor will assume responsibility for the conduct and safety of the cheerleading squad during transportation to away games, while at the host school and at home games.
d. The supervisor shall be responsible for the general health and welfare of all cheerleaders participating in the program, and give appropriate attention to cheerleaders who are injured, ill or other incapacitated.
e. The supervisor shall assist at pep rallies.
