Position:
This posting is for a Project Lead
the Way (PLTW) full time teacher position at Rochester High
School (Zebra New Tech). PLTW courses are hands on,
project based courses and are designed to expose high school
students to areas of studies they typically do not pursue and
to provide them with a foundation for college and career
success. This position is for a High School teacher that
is trained (or willing to be trained in) Aerospace Engineering
Technology, Introduction to Engineering Design, Principals of
Engineering, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Civil
Engineering and Architecture, and Engineering Design and
Development. The PLTW curriculum is founded in the
fundamental problem solving and critical thinking skills taught
in traditional career and technical education, but at the same
time integrate national academic and technical learning
standards and STEM principals. The following equipment is
currently being used in these courses: (2) HAAS VF-2 CNC
machines, Dimension 3D printer, Laser Engraver, Torchmate
Plasma Cutter 4x4, Vex Robotics, Fishertechniks, Sawstop
tablesaw, Newly Built construction lab with new hand tools and
other equipment, New HP 8200 Elite computers dual screen video
card, Smartboard , 3 workrooms:
Computer-construction-robotics-storage room (12x24), 3 RC
airplanes, (2) Nikon Autolevel, 20 flight simulator
yokes, (2) RC flight simulator control modules, HP Plotter 130,
HP Scanner . All instructional material, daily logs and
software will be available for the follow on
teacher. The high school PLTW program also has a
Gateway feeder program at Rochester Middle School.
