Description:
One full-time, 12-month, unclassified position to perform difficult and complex financial accounting and recordkeeping tasks using State Software.  Requirements:  completion of the 12<SUP>th</SUP> grade, three years of accounting or financial recordkeeping experience, thorough skill and knowledge of the methods used in keeping fiscal accounts and records, skill and ability to make arithmetical calculations rapidly and accurately, considerable knowledge of modern office practices, and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.  Experience with State Software preferred. 
 
Minimum Qualifications:

Responsibilities and Essiential Functions:
 

·                     Approves requisitions and verifies appropriate expenditure account codes
·                     Audits invoices received against orders placed for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization
·                     Prepares and issues vouchers on approved expenditures made by the district and records them to the approved appropriation accounts
·                     Proofs and verifies accuracy of financial and payroll reports
·                     Enters, corrects and voids purchase orders
·                     Prepares purchase orders, paychecks, and related reports
·                     Enters and posts daily cash receipts
·                     Deposits cash receipts with bank
·                     Issues invoices for building rental, student tuition, substitute teachers, and other items for the district
·                     Updates budgetary accounts where appropriate
·                     Executes wire transfer of funds for district employee health insurance program
·                     Posts daily/monthly subsidiary accounting journal systems to general ledger system
·                     Reconciles monthly district financial records to bank statement
·                     Processes internal "charge backs"
·                     Maintains payroll related personnel records
·                     Prepares appropriate payroll deductions, computes and processes employee payroll
·                     Maintains employee leave records
·                     Issues year-end 1099 and W-2 tax forms
·                     Operates computer terminal, printer, check signer, and related office equipment
·                     Prepares various accounting and payroll reports
·                     Researches and answers outside inquiries
·                     Acts as a liaison with buildings and departments regarding budgets, receipts, expenditures and related issues
·                     Communicates with staff, vendors, and other necessary parties on financial information regarding purchase orders, invoices, and payments
·                     Interacts occasionally with staff and vendors in conflict situations
·                     Attends inservice and training programs
·                     Performs other duties as assigned 
 

Salary:
$19.01 per hour

Dodi Zimmerman, Compensation Supervisor
