DEPARTMENT: High School Science
JOB TITLE: High School Integrated Science
REQUIREMENTS:
A. Education Level: Bachelors degree or higher--major in science.
B. Certification: Must meet standards for certification as a teacher of secondary science as set by the Nebraska
Department of Education.
C. Experience desired: Teaching experience preferred but not required
D. Flexibility for indoor and outdoor lab activities
REPORTS TO: High School Principal
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Must be able to teach programs in science according to district guidelines.
2. Able to teach all levels of high school science.
3. Provide leadership and supervision of students in developing, organizing, and utilizing resources for an
affective instructional program at the high school level.
4. Assist in program evaluation on a regular basis.
5. Participate in appropriate in-service development programs.
6. Provide a safe, orderly, learning environment and assist in the supervision and direction of students as assigned.
7. Provide a variety of learning experiences in which students are actively engaged as participants in the lesson.
8. Must have knowledge and ability to use computer programs and software as a part of the instructional program.
9. Design curriculum to meet Nebraska State Science Standards.

TITLE: Health/Fitness
QUALIFICATIONS: A valid Nebraska teaching certificate; a degree in education with endorsement in health/fitness.
JOB DESCRIPTION: To provide leadership in the teaching of physical education so that students may derive both intellectual and practical benefits in the field of physical education on the high school level.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Teaches skills, knowledge and attitudes through courses in physical education utilizing courses of study adopted by the school district.
2. Plans a physical education program involving demonstrations, lectures and active student participation.
3. Adapts curriculum to needs of pupils.
4. Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior for a productive learning environment.
5. Evaluates each pupil's growth in knowledge, skills and processes in courses being taught.
6. Selects and requests books and instructional aids and supplies and maintains inventory records as required.
7. Maintains professional competence through inservice education activities provided by the district and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
8. Identifies pupils' needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in helping pupils solve attitude and learning problems.
9. Participates in curriculum and other developmental programs.
10. Communicates with parents and school counselors on pupil progress.
11. Supervises pupils in and out of classroom activities during the assigned work day.
