GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  Christina School District is seeking a talented, motivated, teacher, committed to advancing excellence in teaching, improving teacher quality, and assisting teachers, principals and central office staff in delivery and implementation of the Christina School District's Curriculum.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Meet criteria for highly qualified teachers
  • Three or more years successful teaching experience
  • Experience developing and delivering various professional development i.e. seminars, workshops, facilitated work sessions, small groups, one on one coaching, and modeling lessons
  • Ability to collaborate with staff and administrators
  • Ability to assess training needs and work with individual teachers or teams of teachers to provide support, coaching, and feedback through reflective dialogue
  • Knowledge of the curriculum, pacing guides, and instructional materials in Content Area
  • Knowledge of pedagogy and content
  • Knowledge of strategies to increase student engagement
  • Knowledge of the implementation of the Response to Intervention and the ability to communicate this process with staff
  • Knowledge of instructional differentiation strategies
  • Familiarity with District initiatives
  • Understand and can apply concepts of adult learning  and motivation
  • Experience with school improvement planning process
  • Proficient in the use of instructional technology
  • Demonstrated engagement in on-going professional growth activities
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities


SALARY:    Based on teacher salary scale  
 
MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT:       10 month position

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Use best practices for coaching/modeling or observing in a formative way and providing feedback through reflective dialogue for teachers district-wide
  • Analyze school level, grade level, and classroom data in order to identify strengths and weaknesses and plan targeted support to improve teacher quality and effectiveness
  • Collaborative with building administrators to establish coaching priorities and support district PD initiatives
  • Collaborate with grade level teams in their Professional Learning Communities to review data and reflect on instruction
  • Collaborate with Curriculum Specialists to stay abreast of District Curricular initiatives and/or changes
  • Facilitate small group learning of new content, pedagogy, and instructional strategies
  • Serve as a member of the School Success Team
  • Assist principal with planning & implementing building level professional development as identified in the SSP plan
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities and coaching sessions in My Learning Plan
  • Demonstrate model lessons
  • Ability to attend state-wide content meetings
  • Ability to work evening and summer hours (Compensated)
  • Lead or facilitate lesson studies and/or book studies
  • Broker resources to support professional growth
  • Other duties as assigned
