Superintendent, and is not intended to be continued as a permanent
position. It is further understood by
the successful interim candidate that subject to the return of the permanent
employee, the employment of the interim employee will be terminated.
POSITION TITLE: Night Watchman
REPORTS TO: Manager
of Buildings and Grounds
Night Foreman
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Experience or Training
High School Diploma or GED
certificate; minimum of one (1) year security experience; previous custodial
and/or maintenance experience
Desired Experience or Training
Valid Illinois Driver’s License; two (2) or more
years of previous custodial and/or maintenance experience
BASIC FUNCTION:
Assure protection against fire,
intrusion and theft; follow lines of communication in case of emergency or
damage; maintain physical plant security.
Due to the nature of this position, regular attendance is a necessity.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Make four station rounds per shift.
2.
Report all emergencies through proper lines of
communication.
3.
Assure security of building.
4.
Answer receiving room phone between station
assignments.
5.
Open and lock building doors per requisitions.
6.
Open and lock gates per requisitions.
7.
Turn plant lighting on at the beginning of the
school day.
8.
Raise flag each morning school is in session.
9.
Assist vendors during shift.
10. Dust
mop and clean all corridors, classrooms, physical education, assembly areas and
stairs.
11. Dust
furniture and clean offices and conference rooms.
12. Clean,
sanitize and wet mop all washrooms.
13. Clean
and polish fixtures.
14. Empty
trash.
15. Vacuum
all carpeting.
16. Wash
interior window glass, wall markings, and chalk boards.
17.
Perform other duties and assignments as directed
by the Manager of Buildings and Grounds.
