  • Ability & willingness to work with special needs students.
  • To perform tasks including lifting students and equipment.
  • Able to accept responsibilities of transporting physically-challenged students, i.e., lift operations, restraints, wheelchairs and/or adaptive equipment.
  • Must be willing to be certified in CPR and other specialized training.
  • Experience & previous training preferred.
  • Communicate effectively and in a positive way with parents and school staff.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, kneel, walk or stand.  The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job. The employee frequently will reach while bending and often uses hand strength in securing and assisting special needs students.  The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds, such as needs of students or students in wheelchairs require.  Specific vision abilities by this job include close vision and depth perception and peripheral vision.
