Student assistance with class work, homework, testing and communication for a special needs student at the elementary level, to accompany student to & from school & classes as well as work independently with student.
Must have current LPN or RN license.
Strong desire to assist students with academic, social and physical needs. Minimum of High School or GED diploma.
PA School Code Chapter 14.105 currently requires 20 hours of staff development each school year.
Credential of competency required for all special education paraprofessionals. Competency must be demonstrated and documented by one of the following:
- completion of an Associate's Degree or higher
- completion of 2 years post-secondary education
- completion of the Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraeducators
Positions specifications: 7.5 work hours per day, 180 days per year. $18.00 per hour.
MUST BE ABLE TO DO DAILY LIFTING OF STUDENT ACROSS ALL ENVIRONMENTS AND BE ATTENTIVE TO MEDICAL NEEDS.
