Commensurate with the Brandywine School District’s Secretarial Salary Schedule

($27,181 to $51,919) Based on verified full-time experience

Job Goal:  Within established department procedural guidelines, the incumbent performs advanced, complex and high volume administrative and financial support functions to perform assigned duties completely, accurately and in a timely manner to meet established schedules and deadlines; to perform accurate data entry in the PHRST system according to published policies and procedures; and to provide excellent customer service to employees, visitors, state agency representatives, and/or vendors to the Benefits & Compensation Services Department.

 

Job Qualifications: 

Minimum Education/Experience/Professional Credentials:

1.     60+ college credits, Associate’s Degree, specialized training or certification in related area or five or more years of related and commendable work experience.

2.     Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite of Applications and/or automated departmental and financial systems.

3.     Advanced proficiency in the State of Delaware payroll, benefits and human resource system (PHRST) and the State of Delaware’s First State Financial System (FSF) preferred.

4.     Commitment to professional development.

Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements:

1.     Demonstrated advanced working knowledge of finance policies, procedures and systems.

2.     Outstanding analytical, technical, multi-tasking, time management, organization and interpersonal skills.

3.     Exceptional ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.

4.     Exceptional data entry and processing skills.

5.     Ability to maintain a very high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

6.     Work well independently and in a team environment.

7.     Demonstrated ability to use good judgment, follow through on assigned tasks with a clear focus on attention to detail and accuracy.

 

Essential Functions: 

Essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

1.     Processing and calculating human resource, benefits and payroll data in the PHRST system.

2.     Plan and coordinate Benefits & Compensation Services office workflow to meet departmental performance objectives and ensure operational efficiency.

3.     Perform advanced data and document processing functions in automated systems.

4.     Prepare and distribute general correspondence.

5.     Respond to walk-in, e-mail and telephone inquiries and resolve related issues.

6.     Maintain an organized office and protect sensitive/confidential information.

7.     Access, retrieve and store records according to established file systems.

8.     Compile and analyze financial and/or statistical data.

9.     Complete special or cyclical projects and additional tasks that reflect the nature of the actual work assignment.

10.   Accomplish all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested by the immediate supervisor(s).

11.   Maintain the ability to perform all of the essential functions of the position.
