JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position repairs and maintains all aspects of light commercial air conditioning equipment. Incumbent must have current Texas Operators Drivers License in possession at all times while operating AISD vehicles on public streets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
*Maintain, troubleshoot and repair various kitchen equipment such as walk-in freezers, coolers and line equipment.
*Oils and greases equipment.
*Change out and install new equipment.
*Checks, resets, and replaces fuses or repairs electrical circuits.
*Recharges units when low on refrigerant or after compressor changes.
*Installs compressors both hermetic and semi-hermetic, reads gauges and makes necessary adjustments, sets thermostats, and adjusts when needed.
*Cleans condenser coils as required.
*Checks and makes necessary repairs to condensing units.
*Troubleshoot and repair ice machines.
*Perform other duties as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five (5) years of related experience. Incumbent may substitute years of experience for graduation from a two year A/C school. Incumbent must have knowledge of a specialized field such as air conditioning.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
This position must have the ability to use tools, gauges, trade, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Incumbent must have skills as craftsman, and have EPA certification for refrigerant recovery.
DUTY DAYS: 260 Days
SALARY: MT10: $17.99 - $22.48/hour
Salary determination will be based on documented experience.
