Director of Research and Analytics

 

DEPARTMENT:

Assessment

 

REPORTS TO:

Assistant Superintendent of Assessment and Analytics

 

OVERALL DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for data analytics and reporting necessary to complete Improvement Plans for the district and for schools.  Specifically, the position directs research projects, performs data mining and predictive analytics and longitudinal data reporting and trend analysis.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·          Collaboration with the Technology department on the gathering, storage, and analysis of national, state, and local assessment data and related demographics.

·          Provide expertise for the assessment and evaluation of programs, innovative projects, pilots, and other services.

·          Coordinate the use and distribution of data with school and district administration.

·          Provide leadership on effective data analytics for the district and schools.

·          Lead the evaluation and approval process for research projects in the district.

·          Develop, administer, and analyze surveys for the district.

·          Research and provide appropriate metrics for the evaluation of staff.

·          Participate in presenting data and trends to the community and Board of Education.

·          Provide training on research and analytics.

·          Process and monitor research projects proposed by District 203 staff and outside organizations.

·          Use descriptive and inferential statistics.

·          Assist in the gathering and creation of state reports, including but not limited to

o    AYP Status Report verification

o    E-report card

o    End of Year report

o    ISAT and PSAE student lists and corrections to lists and scores

o     Other reports as assigned.

·          Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

M.A./M.S. required;

Illinois Type 75 certification preferred

Coursework in Educational research and statistics

Experience with Business Intelligence tools and expertise with spreadsheets

Minimum 5 years related experience required

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

12 Month Administrator contract with benefits per Board Policy

TRS or IMRF eligible - (TRS requires Type 75 certification)
