SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER
A full-time (1.000 FTEs) assignment as a School Social Worker is available beginning with the 2012-13 school year. A valid Minnesota Department of Education School Social Worker license is required. Application deadline: May 4, 2012.
Summary of Duties: 1.000 FTE position to provide social work services to students with an emphasis on those students, receiving special education services, who require related services.
Other Information: Primarily in elementary schools. Provide individual and group services for students needing social skills or addressing other emotional and behavioral issues. Participate in the delivery of special education services. Maintain effective communication with County Social Services Agencies with focus on students with IEPs and regular education students experiencing social and emotional issues. Network and consult with community professionals who may provide potential services to students and their families. Address school attendance issues at both the elementary and secondary levels. Provide assistance to special education staff to ensure the delivery of services to students and their families.
