Middle School Math Resource Teacher

Responsibilities:

  1. Instruction of accelerated math

  2. Mentoring math teachers to support proper implementation of CMP
  3. Facilitating conversations and communications among and between grade levels
  4. Assisting the building principal to monitor the requirements of NCLB and responding to building needs in meeting Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP)
  5. Engaging in co-planning and co-teaching activities with individual teachers and teams
  6. Collaborating with core, bilingual and special education teachers on differentiation strategies to support needs of diverse learners
  7. Establishing working relationships with both tenured and pre-tenured teachers
  8. Modeling life-long learning
  9. Keeping up with professional reading and attending professional conferences
  10. Modeling the characteristics and advancing the goals of the professional learning community
  11. Helping individual teachers and teams design and implement necessary modifications and extensions to best meet the needs of all learners
  12. Leading teachers in activities to support data analysis on a regular basis
  13. Promoting instructional practices which best meet the needs of students
  14. Providing building level professional development
  15. Assisting Math Coordinator with committee tasks as needed throughout the year
  16. Collaborating with the Math Resource teachers at each of the middle schools to promote the establishment of a Math Resource team
  17. Participating on appropriate school and district committees
  18. Assuming other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time

 

Qualifications

 

  • Current teaching certificate (Secondary Math certification preferred)
  • Middle School Math endorsement or Secondary math certification
  • Quality teaching experiences
  • Experience with leadership, professional development, and/or facilitating projects
